The promise of "an open door" is one of the most powerful promises in the word of God! Doors are places of exit and entry. In Genesis 4:7, God gave Cain an opportunity to repent and try again, but if he would not, then "sin lieth at the door." The place of entry was his heart and because he did not repent sin entered in and he slew his brother. In Psalms 24:7, David encourages us to praise and worship God."Lift up your heads, O ye gates; be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors: and the King of glory shall come in." In I Corinthians 16:9, the Apostle Paul wrote that a "great and effectual door" has been opened allowing Him to establish churches throughout Asia Minor. At First Pentecostal Church of Havana we believe that God has given us the promise of an open door. We minister to the needs of our community and preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ because He has set before us "an open door." - Senior Pastor John B. Rednour, Sr |
